The question that came up most this week appears to be; What does Finish Quality mean? Because the work turned in after three weeks is far from finished work. The Good and Evil assignment is not required to be in color but it is to be presented as finished work. For clarity finished work means is work that displays the composition in a film frame form and delivers the story and mood and is executed in a professional technique. As I explained earlier, these are not story sketches or rough beats, but visual development oriented images. If your work appears unfinished or unclear on a film or you're not defining the look and feel expected for the film you are not crafting or inspiring what the visual goal is. When this occurs in production, someone down the line in production will define the look, and have to do the work abandon by the visual development artist. Your job as a visual development artist is to define the look and feel of the film. This assignment is your opportunity to define through your execution how you would like the story visually told. That said here are some examples of finished visual development work. (Yours need only to be in black and white)
